We are happy to announce the launch of a new podcast ministry for our Farsi-speaking listeners. The content will consist of some 4,000 audio programs from our library.
The podcasts will be available from the Radio Mojdeh website and eventually on our mobile phone apps. They can also be accessed on any podcast platform, including the iTunes store, and Castbox.
Podcasting is extremely popular among Iranians. The Iranian internet is slow and expensive. So people often download their podcasts of choice and listen to them later when they are offline. Although you need an internet connection to download podcasts, you don’t need it to listen offline.
Many people have jobs or are students at institutions where the internet is provided for them to do their work. The average “twenty somethings” in Iran can download a program at work or college and listen to it later that evening or on the weekend in the privacy of their home.
Most Iranians already have at least one podcast app on their mobile phone. We anticipate that 90% of our listeners inside Iran will access our podcasts via their mobile phones, rather than from a desktop computer, because mobile phones provide more privacy.
We are trusting the Lord to supply the funding for this latest project. The development work will cost close to $31,000 ($41,000 CAD). The ongoing price for hosting the podcasts will be $400 ($520 CAD) per month. Pray that our faithful God will provide everything needed. A young Iranian Christian voluntarily created artwork for the podcast websites.
