Have you wondered if Islam has both a public and a private face?
Wonder no more. Dr. Warren Larson of The Zwemer Center for Muslim Studies has written a relevent article entitled, “Islam’s Public and Private Face.”
Dr. Larson writes, "What is not public is that most Muslims (perhaps three-quarters) are into folk stuff, mixing so-called orthodox Islam (five pillars and strict monotheistic beliefs) with popular practices. Here, life revolves around charms, amulets, curses, blessings and a whole lot of fear."
He exposes the inside scoop to help us understand the undercurrents beneath the storm and why Jesus can be so attractive to fear-filled Muslims. Read the article here.
