False ideas about God cause people to worship in a distorted manner and live out their lives tragically separated from God.
Thankfully, the message of Christ continues to go out and reveal what God is like. The Gospel is impacting many people. It is not just changing their belief system. It is also changing their inner character.
"Rahim" is a young man in Iran who trusted Christ and has been growing spiritually. And his family is softening.
Rahim wrote, “When I received the Lord, my father first banished me to the basement and then evicted me from the house entirely. He said that according to Shari’a law, every part of me was unclean. But I took your advice and waited patiently, not reacting strongly in the flesh.
"I did a load of his dirty clothes in the washer, and then left the house. I found a place to stay that night and lay in bed, praying for my dad. In the morning, when I met him on the street, he hugged me like there were no Shari’a law!
“Now my father even allows me to have a picture of Jesus in my room. I won’t be surprised if some day he tells me that he’s accepted Christ. Thank you for your kindness, prayers and instruction.”
II Corinthians 5:17 says, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come."
The living Lord Jesus Christ specializes in producing life-change. In Rahim's case, He replaced impatience with patience and selfishness with love.
