Radio listeners and website and social media visitors contact us to request more spiritual help. We provide them with follow-up counseling.
Many of their questions are about the Bible and the person of Jesus Christ. We sometimes have discussions with them about the resurrection of Christ or the Trinity because these are issues that trouble them.
They also tell us about their personal struggles such as family problems, unemployment, discouragement, addictions, and even thoughts of suicide.
Here are responses from some of them:
“I thank God for your programs. They’re the only thing that makes my heart rejoice. Every day I listen with hope to hear a new message. I asked my mother not to turn on the TV from 8-10:00 pm every evening so I can listen to your radio programs.
"Your messages introduced me to God and have helped me to be at peace with Him. Your programs have caused my faith in Jesus to be strengthened. I love God with all my heart. I have come to faith in the living Jesus Christ. I accepted Him as my Lord.
"I beg you to teach people like me how to live out their new faith. How can we become more like Jesus each day? I don’t have a New Testament or a Bible. I don’t know any other believers in this city or if there is any church here, nor if I am allowed to go there.
"The only thing that causes me to rejoice is your radio programs. In the past few months I have come to know and love these programs. You have caused me to come closer to almighty God and, as a result, God has made many changes in my life. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you again.”
“Thank you for answering all my questions. Do not forget us when you pray. I wish I knew why everyone leaves Iran as soon as they come to know the Lord. We need them here! And we need shepherds for all these sheep. No wonder some new Christians follow false doctrine. We have no shepherds and we are wandering like sheep and go from one place to another.
"I know the Lord has not forgotten us. Let Satan be warned: we will never leave the Lord! We will still stay to the end. We do not seek after worldly things. We seek the Lord in heaven and His righteousness.”
Our follow-up staff depends on the Lord for wisdom as they respond to these concerns and provide follow-up counseling. We pray for those who contact us and ask God to work in His incomparable way to bring help and hope to those who face darkness and despair.
Thank you for praying for our follow-up team and for the dear listeners who contact us.
What matters to us
What we do is important. But even more important is who we are.
The following ten "core values" reflect what is important to us and the kind of people we want to be as we serve the Lord. These values influence our personal attitudes and actions as well as how we minister.
We admit that sometimes we fail in our application of these values. In our moments of failure, we have to run to the Cross of Christ where there is always abundant mercy and grace. But these values describe how we sincerely desire to live and serve.
1. Making the Lord Jesus Christ known in the Persian world
This central passion drives us. In fact, this is the reason why Voice of Christ Media Ministries exists. Jesus Christ died for us and lovingly drew us to Himself. Just before He ascended to heaven, He asked His disciples to go in His Name and spread the Gospel to the entire world. How can we do anything less than to honor our Savior by carrying out His last request?
Our efforts to carry out the Great Commission focus on the Persian World. This is one of the least reached parts of the world. Most Persians have never ever heard a clear presentation of the Gospel and are completely isolated from the personal witness of a Christian.
2. Using Farsi-language radio, internet and other media to accomplish our mission
We use satellite radio broadcasts, the internet and other media to teach God’s Word because these are some of the few ways available to reach the Persian World. Although other tools have an important place in the advancement of the Kingdom of God, we have chosen to focus on the use of electronic media, especially audio media. Although over fifty languages are spoken in the Persian World, our current resources dictate that we specialize in using the Persian or Farsi language.
3. Submitting to the authority of God’s Word
The Bible is God's inspired and authoritative Word. In fact, it is the only sure word that we have from God, and we believe we can stake our very lives on its truths. We sincerely desire to obey everything the Bible teaches, even though we’re still learning how to be obedient disciples. Because the Bible is God's inspired Word, its message is central in everything that we say on our radio programs and write in our follow-up correspondence.
4. Teaching God's Word accurately and relevantly
We desire to teach the Scriptures accurately so that the meaning that is conveyed is exactly what God intended. Also, we never want to inadvertently obscure the meaning of God's Word. So, we strive for accuracy as we explain what the Bible says and means. We also want to apply the Scriptures relevantly to the real-life situations that our listeners face.
5. Being people of integrity and personal holiness
While our service is certainly vital, even more important in the eyes of God is what we are like on the inside. Consequently, we want to be men and women of absolute integrity who shun duplicity and hypocrisy and where our walk matches our talk. We invite the Lord to continue to knock the rough edges off our characters as we daily learn at His feet.
6. Being accountable and open to correction
Pride sometimes skews the way people view themselves. Left to ourselves, many of us would prefer to do our own thing without seeking counsel from others or being open to corrective words. We realize this tendency can shipwreck us—personally and as a ministry. So, we seek to be accountable to one another and to those who are in authority over us. While correction can initially make us wince, we recognize there are times when we need people to come alongside and help us see our flaws.
7. Communicating openly, honestly and in love
Here we are talking about interpersonal relationships between staff members, people in other "sister" ministries, the larger Body of Christ and our radio listening audience. Not only do we want to learn to have open communication with one another, we also desire to always tell the truth with an attitude of love and humility. This also includes the way we communicate in the letters and newsletters that we send to our supporters.
8. Esteeming the unity of the Body of Christ
Because we deeply appreciate the Body of Christ and value all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we desire to promote unity among our brothers and sisters, especially those whose ministries overlap ours to some degree. We also desire to partner with them as much as possible, and we genuinely rejoice when other servants of the Lord are used by Him.
9. Striving for excellence in all we do
We desire excellence, not perfection. The Name of Jesus Christ is excellent, and we want to accurately represent Him as His ambassadors. We want to avoid distorting His reputation by broadcasting radio programs that have distracting technical or production flaws or by communicating with our supporters in a fleshly way.
10. Trusting God to meet every need and challenge
God has given us a wonderful open door to reach into the Persian World daily with His powerful Word. But we are always conscious of our weaknesses as we encounter needs and challenges. However, because Voice of Christ Media Ministries belongs to our omnipotent and compassionate Lord and because He has called us, we believe we can completely trust Him to provide all that we need to face the challenges. This ministry exists to bring the glory to His Name that He rightly deserves. We depend on Him as we move forward in His Name.
Voice of Christ Media Ministries mission
Voice of Christ Media Ministries equips Persian speakers worldwide with the teaching of God's Word, through the production and distribution of content for radio, internet and other media, together with ongoing follow-up, so that individuals trust Christ as Savior, mature in their faith and contribute to the growth of the Church.
Voice of Christ Media Ministries serves Persian speakers in many countries by bringing them into a life-changing encounter with the living Christ through the internet, mobile phones, satellite radio,Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other media. We love Persians because Christ loved us first when we had no hope of knowing God.
This unique outreach operated under the name of Radio Voice of Christ for 38 years. In 2009 we changed our name to Voice of Christ Media Ministries because we are using many media other than just radio.
The Persian world, located in the heart of the "10-40 Window," is one of the least reached areas of the world. This includes 78 million Iranians, 30 million Afghans and the 8 million Tajiks who are among the world's least evangelized. Most of them know nothing at all about the good news of God’s love. However, God is moving among Iranians as never before, bringing thousands to Himself. In fact, more are coming to Christ than at any time in the past 1,300 years!
Our team of national evangelists, teachers, and producers creates culturally attractive radio programs in the Iranian dialect of Persian, known as Farsi. This language is also understood by those who speak other Persian dialects in Afghanistan, Tajikistan and the surrounding region. Our goal is to spread the news about the Living Word, Jesus Christ, as He is explained in the pages of the written Word of God, the Bible.
Our Farsi programs are broadcast 24/7 by satellite and internet. In addition, we broadcast from a medium wave radio station in the region. The broadcasts can be heard by over 70 million Persian speakers in the Middle East as well as millions in many other countries. Tens of thousands tune in to our programs to hear about Jesus Christ, many for the first time in their lives.
Radio Mojdeh, a Farsi website, contains articles, audio programs and other resources. The site features an internet radio station that broadcasts music and talk 24 hours of the day. Our mobile apps for Android and Apple phones play this station. We also maintain a Farsi language YouTube channel and Facebook, and Instagram pages. Iranians and other Persian speakers in many different countries read our posts, make comments and ask questions about the Christian faith.
Millions of Iranians and Afghans are open to the Gospel. Countless numbers log in to the Persian website or tune their radios and satellite dishes to our programming so they can hear God’s Word. Interested listeners contact us to request more spiritual help, and we follow them up. We answer their questions, give them biblical counsel and send follow-up materials to teach them the Gospel and help them grow in Christ.
What we believe
Introduction
This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. The final responsibility for the interpretation of the Bible’s meaning and application in regard to the doctrine and practices of Voice of Christ Media Ministries rests with the Board of Directors.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit; that it is inerrant in the original manuscripts; and that it is the infallible and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 17:17; 1 Corinthians 2:13).
The Trinity
We believe that there is only one living and true God, eternally coexisting in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the same in substance and equal in power and glory (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-6; Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:18 19; John 1:18; Ephesians 4:6).
We believe in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His personal and bodily return to rapture the church and His return in power and glory to establish His kingdom upon the earth and complete His redemptive mission (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1, 14, 10:30, 14:9; Hebrews 1:1-4; Acts 1:11; 1 Corinthians 15:20; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:20-23; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 1 Peter 3:18).
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person of the Godhead; that He is the divine author of the Scriptures; that He convicts the world of sin; that He is the divine agent of regeneration; that He indwells and baptizes all believers into the body of Christ at the time of their conversion; and that He gives power to believers and makes them spiritually fruitful (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 16:8; Romans 8:9; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Ephesians 1:13-14; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-13; Galatians 5:22-23).
Salvation
We believe that man is born totally depraved, a sinner in thought, word and deed and that he absolutely needs to be saved (Genesis 3; Psalms 51:5; Romans 3:10-23, 5:12-14; Ephesians 2:4-9).
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone on the ground of the vicarious death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ; that all who trust Christ as personal Savior are born again by the Holy Spirit; and all who have been truly born again have been given eternal life and shall never perish (Romans 3:23-26; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18 19; John 1:12, 10:27-29; Romans 6:23, 8:38-39; John 3:5-6; Titus 3:5).
We believe that both the righteous and the wicked will be bodily raised from the dead; that the redeemed in Christ will enjoy eternal blessedness in His presence forever; and that those who have not received Christ and His offer of salvation will suffer eternal punishment (John 6:39-40; Romans 8:11, 19-23; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:9; Revelation 22:4-5; Matthew 25:41; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9; Revelation 20:11-15).
The Church
We believe that all Christians are called to live Spirit-filled, obedient, fruitful lives (John 14:15; Romans 6:1-4; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 2:10, 5:18).
We believe that the universal church, the body of Christ, consists of all believers in Christ who are united together by the indwelling Holy Spirit; and that all believers are called to faithfully worship God and serve one another within the fellowship of a local Bible-believing church (1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 3:26-28; Ephesians 4:1-6; Romans 12:1-8; Colossians 3:12-15; Hebrews 10:24-25).
Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image; that human life is of inestimable worth, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death; and that we are therefore called to value, defend, and protect all human life (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139).
Marriage, Gender and Sexuality
We believe that God in His original design created people as male and female (Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of God’s sovereign and wise design for that person. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, for life, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25, Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:31).
We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other; that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman; and that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 6:18; Matthew 15:18-20; Romans 1:24-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8).
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ; that every person must be afforded love, kindness, respect, and dignity; and that hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 John 1:7-9; Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31; Ephesians 4:31-5:2).
